Functional fillers: Stability and volume

Functional fillers refer to all additives that give the plastic volume and influence the weight and external properties. This could include glas-, carbon- and various mineral fibers or spheres.

Carbon and glass fibers are used when special strength is desired, while wood fibers are used to manufacture wood-like plastics. Functional additives are used additionally in order to enable mixing with the polymers in the extruder.
